Urgent! Project Manager - Redress Case Management System Job Opening In Masterton – Now Hiring New Zealand Government
The Crown Response Office was established in September 2024 to coordinate and facilitate cross-government decision making and implement the Crown's response to the Abuse in Care Royal Commission of Inquiry.
The Office sits within the Public Service Commission.
The creation of the Office within a central Government agency was a key recommendation in the Royal Commission's final report, Whanaketia – through pain and trauma, from darkness to light.
The Crown Response Office plays an important strategic, advisory and coordination role to ensure the Crown is joined up and focused on the right priorities.
We're seeking a seasoned Project Manager on a fixed term or secondment basis to 30 June 2026.
This role will lead the design, build, and implementation of a new IT Case Management System that will support the delivery of redress services.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a high-impact programme that supports the Crown's response to the Abuse in Care Royal Commission of Inquiry.
What you'll be doing

Leading the end-to-end delivery of a fit-for-purpose case management system, from procurement through to operationalisation.

Managing vendors to deliver the solution to agreed design, quality, time, and budget expectations.
*
Working closely with operational teams and subject matter experts to ensure the system meets user needs.
*
Rolling up your sleeves to fill gaps and keep momentum — this role is closely involved in delivery.

Supporting other projects across the Crown Response Plan as capacity allows.

Significant experience managing complex projects, including IT systems, business process reengineering, and operational policy.

Proven experience delivering case management systems or similar IT solutions in the social sector or public service.

Strong vendor management and stakeholder engagement skills.

A collaborative team player who builds capability in others — including BAs, SMEs, and project coordinators.
