Job description

OverviewWe're looking for a highly capable Project Manager / Construction Manager to join Coastal Projects, a fast-growing construction and development company working across multi-residential developments, new builds, and subdivisions throughout the Kapiti Coast, Levin, and Wellington regions.
This is a diverse, hands-on leadership role managing multiple residential projects simultaneously – from tender and land acquisition through to completion and sale.
In addition to project delivery, this role also involves QS and pricing responsibilities, including assisting with pricing new builds, tenders, and variations.
The role is based out of our Paraparaumu office, with regular site visits across the region.
This is not a trainee role; we're looking for someone who can step in and run projects confidently from day one.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and oversee multiple residential developments at once.
Involvement across all project stages including tendering, procurement, scheduling, delivery, and handover.
Run project management systems, issue purchase orders, order materials, and coordinate suppliers.
Programme and coordinate subcontractors, consultants, and site teams.
Assist with QS functions, including pricing new builds, tenders, variations, and cost control.
Liaise professionally with clients, consultants, councils, and stakeholders.
Oversee and implement Health & Safety compliance on all projects.
Manage variations, remedials, and warranty issues efficiently.
Conduct site inspections and provide hands-on support when required.
What We're Looking For
Proven experience as a Project or Construction Manager in residential construction.
Strong background in multi-residential, new build, and subdivision projects.
Some QS and pricing experience is essential, including the ability to assist with pricing builds, tenders, and variations.
Trade-qualified builder (LBP preferred) who is practical and confident on site.
Proficient with BuildaPrice, Buildxact, and Microsoft 365.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Able to work autonomously, make decisions, and drive results.
A proactive, solutions-focused operator who can manage a busy and varied workload.
