McConnell Dowell is looking for a skilled Project Accountant to support our Te Puke project.
This role is critical to maintaining robust financial systems and ensuring timely and accurate reporting across all aspects of project delivery.As Project Accountant, you'll work closely with the Project Manager and wider finance team to manage cost reporting, forecasting, progress claims, and financial controls.
If you thrive in a fast-paced project environment and enjoy providing clear financial insights to guide decision-making, this is the opportunity for you.Responsibilities IncludePrepare monthly cost reports and twelve-month cashflow forecasts.Support timely submittal of monthly progress claims and input into Workbench.Review and input budgets, subcontractor payments, and variations.Provide cost-to-complete reviews and risk assessments with the project team.Assist with forecasting plant, labour, and material costs for self-perform packages.Maintain up-to-date balance sheet reconciliations and site ledgers.Manage McConnell Dowell assets and maintain registers.Liaise between the project team and company finance functions to ensure accurate, on-time reporting.About you:Minimum 5 years' experience in financial or management accounting within a large commercial environment.Strong understanding of construction project financials.Excellent analytical, numeracy, and problem-solving skills.Advanced knowledge of accounting software and MS Office Suite.Ability to work autonomously, priorities tasks, and meet deadlines.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.Commitment to integrity, confidentiality, and protecting the company's financial interests.About UsMcConnell Dowell – Creative Construction.
