The opportunity / Te Whiwhinga mahi
We are looking for a Team Leader to provide continued leadership to staff delivering Trade and Maritime programmes.
This is a permanent, part time 0.8FTE role based on our Nelson Campus.
The Trades and Maritime programmes are highly productive, and quality focussed.
This key people leadership role will support the delivery of these programmes in any of the assigned portfolio(s) within the Engineering and Construction Department.
The position will be responsible for:
Providing operational leadership and management of the curriculum delivery.
Supporting the Curriculum Area Manager to manage operational and budget requirements.
Providing effective line management and mentoring.
Building strong, sustainable, and valued relationships and networks that open up opportunities for new delivery that meets our current and future learners needs and wants.
Leading and embedding a culture of innovation and continuous improvement that enhances learners experience and educational outcomes.
You will be an effective people leader who is highly organised with excellent communication skills, that can manage and champion change and support a shift to new ways of working.
To be successful in this role, it is highly desirable that you have tertiary qualification and experience in trades.
Relevant Level 4 qualification with 10+ years' relevant experience in a relevant field
Relevant tertiary degree qualification with 8+ years' relevant experience in a relevant field
and be able to demonstrate:
Proven experience in people management and leading an effective team
Passion for delivering the highest service to our learners and stakeholders
A growth mindset, proven analytical skills and be solution focused
An ability to implement and manage change as it relates to the specific area and its growth
