Job description

Join Auckland Council as a Programme Advisor Social Innovation in a part‑time fixed‑term (24 hrs per week) role for 12 months.

You will support the Programme Manager, collaborate with team members, and provide information to the Finance Business Partner, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of financial functions across the Southern Initiative.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate monthly finance meetings, reporting on funding utilisation and managing action registers.

  • Support operational finance delivery, including the unit’s monthly financial management cycle; develop documentation to help leads manage programme budgets.

  • Lead new initiatives by coordinating financial set‑up with the Finance Business Partner, ensuring funds are prepared, tracked and utilised correctly.

  • Assist with budgets, finance tasks and compliance across programmes, turning financial insights into clear, actionable reports for managers.

Qualifications

  • Solid experience in financial management, budgeting, forecasting and reporting.

  • Proficiency in financial systems, advanced Excel skills, and SAP.

  • Experience in budget management, procurement, risk management, contract navigation and ensuring compliance with financial and organisational policies.

  • Ability to translate financial reports into actionable insights for managers and programme leads.
