We have a permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week) opportunity for a Professor or Associate Professor to make significant impact and develop their career in teaching, research and service.
We are open to expertise across areas relevant to our Law School, and are particularly interested in applicants who can contribute to our teaching and/or research in any area of the Law.
You will have demonstrated leadership capability and show willingness to take up a future substantial leadership role as opportunities arise, including leading new programme developments, deputy/head of school, associate dean or research centre leader.
You'll teach across programmes as assigned by the Dean of Law.
We embrace practice-led, as well as research-informed, approaches to teaching where the student experience is optimised.
Your contributions to programme and course development will enhance our continuous-improvement focus and you will support embedding Tikanga Māori into New Zealand''s law curriculum.
You will publish actively in your specialised field/s.
We offer an excellent research environment with contestable research funds, and the possibility of collaborative work and student research project supervision.
The successful candidate will likely seek external research funding, engage with government, business, professional bodies and the community, and contribute to School/Faculty activities.
Senior academics also provide mentorship to other colleagues in both research and teaching.
You will have an open, engaging and collaborative attitude that is flexible to changing requirements.
You must embrace and value diversity and enjoy working inclusively with students and staff.
