About the role
We’re looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Production Manager to lead our Afternoon Shift team at our Mangere manufacturing site.
This is a full-time, permanent role working Monday to Friday, 3:15pm – 11:15pm.
Reporting to the Plant Manager, you’ll be hands-on in managing daily operations and driving performance across the shift.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Oversee the smooth and efficient operation of production machinery, ensuring compliance with safety codes and maintenance standards.
- Improving productivity and efficiency using proven processes.
- Conducting regular quality checks and resolving issues quickly.
- Monitoring plant performance and energy use.
- Working with scheduling staff to meet production targets.
- Leading prototype builds and applying feedback.
- Identifying opportunities for automation and new technology.
- Supporting machinery upgrades and supplier evaluations.
- Maintaining accurate production data in Epicor.
- Promoting a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.
Qualifications
To be successful in the role, you will have:
- Demonstrated Leadership skills – including motivating, leading and managing a team
- Proven experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment (eg: Sheetmetal CNC machinery, press tooling optimisation, copper tube manufacture and brazing)
- Quality focused with good attention to detail and be safety focused
- The ability to interpret engineering drawings
- Excellent work ethics including attendance and punctuality
- Proficient computer skills.
