The role:
At VTS we are continuing to grow and develop our Diverge platform and its next-generation Meter Data Management System (MDMS) capabilities.
Our platform’s features and performance are designed to support transformational change in utilities’ use of energy data as they navigate the energy transition.

As Principal Product Manager for MDMS, you’ll guide the evolution of Diverge’s next-generation capabilities as used by our customers’ smart metering operations.
This includes re-imagining familiar features and shaping totally new, cutting-edge capabilities to meet our customers’ future needs.
You’ll play a critical role alongside digital product practitioners and experienced engineers guiding their understanding of the capabilities on your roadmap and why they matter to customers.
On a typical week you can expect to:
Lead product discovery, problem-solving, business casing, and quality assurance, both defining and delivering our MDMS roadmap.
Act as our expert on MDMS customers and their ecosystems, including how their businesses operate, what matters to them and how they adopt new technologies.
Oversee our product’s performance and fit with existing customers, working closely with Customer Success and Customer Operations managers.
Engage with prospective MDMS customers and partners, supporting both go-to-market activities and product roadmap development.
Collaborate with Design, Engineering, Delivery, and Customer Success teams to bring roadmap capabilities to life for our customers.
Prepare and deliver presentations and demos for internal and external audiences.
Build shared understanding within VTS of what an MDMS does, why it matters, and how it fits with our product vision and strategy.
Set up and/or evolve metrics, data sources, and feedback loops to provide visibility of our product’s success.
Lead responses to competitive tenders (RFI/RFP) and assess prospective customers’ business and technical requirements.
About you:
We’re looking for someone who brings deep experience and knowledge of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) systems and teams within the utilities sector.
This could come from:
3+ years working directly in smart metering or AMI operations or,
3+ years’ experience working in a customer or equivalent organisation’s Digital / IT function directly supporting AMI Operations or,
3+ years’ experience working for a software vendor developing MDMS, Utility CIS or directly equivalent products used in AMI Operations, or
5+ years’ experience working for systems integrators or consultants, inclusive of 3+ years’ experience on AMI, MDMS or Utility CIS implementation projects.
We’re also looking for:
Demonstrated excellence in both written and verbal communication, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly to a range of audiences.
Strong fluency in business and IT operating metrics, including service level agreements (SLAs), regulatory compliance, and profit and loss (P&L) management.
Up-to-date understanding of industry trends and awareness of the competitive landscape within utilities and technology.
A genuine interest in, and familiarity with, digital product development and innovation.
