About the Role
Our new Principal will be:
A visionary and innovative educational leader who leads with integrity and moral purpose with exceptional personal and professional standards.
Supportive of a collaborative culture within and between students, staff, whanau, iwi, other education providers and the wider community.
An empowering educator who brings out the best in others and can lead learning with a clear focus on excellent outcomes for all students across the learning continuum.
A clear and strategic planner, able to work confidently and communicate effectively with the Board, Senior Leadership Team and staff in further developing and implementing the Nayland College vision and strategy.
A skilled people leader – building trust, growing leaders and empowering others.
Our new Principal will have:
A sound understanding of Te Ao Maori, tikanga Maori and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Experience in engaging with a diverse community, and the ability to instil a desire for each individual to maximise their potential whether they are a student, a staff member, or a member of the wider community.
A track record of success in building strong and constructive relationships within the school and the wider community.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Energy and drive, bringing enthusiasm and resilience to the role, and embracing the dynamic nature of the college.
Skills in developing and articulating a vision for the future.
Skills in overseeing the business of the College.
The ability to work calmly and effectively in stressful situations.
