No two days are the same.We are seeking a visionary**Principal Engineer****– End to End Integration**to lead BNZ’s strategic direction inTesting Environments,testingmethodologies,integration patterns, and database technologiestounderstanding a wide range of banking systems.**Mō te Tūranga | About the Role**We sat down with our Platform Manager, and they let us know the following about the role.You willassist,automateand implement scalabletestingpatterns, manage comprehensive test environments, evaluate tools,troubleshootissuesandestablishbest practices fortesting outcomes, transformation, and analytics.

You will provide technical leadership for ourTesting Practices and environments,SDLC phasingandTestplatformreliability.You will bring technical leadership, mentor and guide engineers at all levels, conduct training sessions, and promote continuous learning and technical excellence.

Your leadership will inspire innovation, align strategies, and strengthen BNZ’sTestingcapabilitiesand environments.This critical role shapes our long-term technologytestingstrategyinSoftware Development Life Cycle (SDLC)practices,utilising a broad range of technical skillset, troubleshootingsystem andtest issues,driving innovation while fostering collaboration and alignment.Success in this role will look like a well-maintained, reliable end-to-end test environment that enables fast, confident delivery across multiple systems and integration points.The successful candidate will have established strong automation practices and frameworks that reduce manual effort, improve test coverage, and provide clear visibility of quality across the delivery pipeline.

This includes:* Scripting & Automation* Pipelines – Jenkins, Spinnaker* Proxies & Gateways – Kong, F5* Containers – OpenShift, EKS,Kubernetes* Load balancers – HA Proxy, F5* Queues and event streaming – Kafka, MQ* Monitoring – Splunk, Dynatrace and others* Strong understanding ofsecurity(i.e.secret management, vulnerability scanning, certification management,etc)* SDLC practices and any development background* Source Code Management experience with Gitand GitOps* Bonus is anyexpertisein Kafka or Mainframe**What attributes will this person display****in order to**Strong communicationskills are essential for this role, with the ability to build social capital across BNZ and technology.
