Principal Consultant / Technical Director - Acoustics and Vibration

We are looking for a Principal or Technical Director level Acoustics and Vibration Consultant to join our eight-strong acoustics team spread across Aotearoa.

The role can be based at any of our ten offices.

The focus is on environmental acoustics, including attracting and retaining clients and serving as a technical expert within New Zealand.

You will be a technical advisor to the team and help develop client relationships.

Familiarity with the Resource Management Act, local authority requirements and relevant NZ and international guidance and standards is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Driving the quality and delivery of environmental acoustics projects
  • collaborating with Environmental Consultants, Planners, and Ecologists across New Zealand and globally
  • Delivering high-quality outcomes for clients with a focus on quality
  • Preparing fee proposals
  • Preparing and reviewing high-quality reports
  • Establishing strong client relationships and developing new business opportunities

Skills And Experience

  • A professional qualification in acoustics and vibration or other relevant degree/experience
  • 15+ years' professional experience, ideally in consulting
  • Experience delivering and reviewing highly technical reports
  • Experience attending Council level and/or Environment Court hearings as an expert witness
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Resource Management Act, local authority requirements and relevant standards
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary project teams
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deliverables on competing timeframes
  • Clear, concise, and professional written and spoken communication
