Climate and nature disclosure reporting is transforming how organisations understand their environmental risks and opportunities.

As mandatory reporting requirements take effect, businesses need technical experts who can navigate complex data, conduct rigorous assessments, and translate findings into actionable strategies.

Reporting to the Global Climate and Nature Practice Lead, this position offers a unique opportunity to lead and grow a high-performing team at a time when climate and nature disclosure analysis and reporting is becoming increasingly impactful and important for our clients.

As a Principal in our Climate and Nature Practice, you'll take on a significant leadership role in our team of experts to undertake climate and nature risk and opportunity assessments as well as develop climate and nature disclosure reports aligned to the Taskforce for Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) and the AASB S2 Mandatory climate-related financial disclosure requirements.

You will lead our nature-related business development strategy and elevate our technical offering in integrating nature-related considerations into our existing offerings, as well as developing new service offerings.

This will include managing direct reports, as well as coaching and upskilling the broader team.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Advisory: Nature and climate scenario analysis, including risk and opportunity assessment, with a focus on alignment with AASB S2 and TNFD/LEAP.

Building on the results of risk assessments, develop risk treatment and adaptation plans and strategies to build resilience.

Drawing on the outcomes of nature risk and opportunity assessments inform the development of Nature Positive Strategies.

Provide advice regarding the preparation of climate and nature disclosure reports.

Business Growth: Expand nature and climate services, interact with current and prospective clients to identify their requirements, identify new opportunities, and contribute to revenue growth and innovation.

Technical Expertise: Provide insights into exposure (climate) and LOCATE (nature) data sources and analysis, technology, data strategies, and pre-assurance methods.

Industry Leadership: Address climate and nature challenges across diverse sectors, bringing contemporary thinking and deep subject matter expertise.

Implementation Oversight: Ensure strategies are actionable, effective and aligned with business objectives.

Regulatory Guidance: Provide expert advice on local policies, regulations and initiatives.

Team Leadership: Lead teams in tackling sector-specific sustainability challenges with innovative solutions.

Thought Leadership: Represent the company at industry events, sharing insights and shaping the future of how the private and public sector responds to climate and nature risks and opportunities.

To be considered, key experience includes:

Qualifications and Experience:

Technical Foundation:


  • 10+ years of experience in climate change and sustainability consulting with nature-related strategy or applied in-house sustainability roles



  • Bachelor's degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, Economics, Finance, Sustainability, Engineering or a related field

  • Proficiency in data analysis, literature review, identifying data quality issues and deriving insightful conclusions

  • Deep knowledge of natural systems, biodiversity, climate science, including climate projections in Australia and relevant data sources from the IPCC

  • Strong experience with nature and climate scenario analysis technique, risk modelling and developing adaptation plans and strategies for organisational resilience

  • Understanding of nature and climate assessment and reporting standards

  • Experience with frameworks like TCFD, ISSB, AASB S2, TNFD, or similar

Professional Capabilities:


  • Commercial acumen and client advisory experience, including direct engagement with senior stakeholders

  • Proven ability to guide and mentor junior team members

  • Proven leadership capabilities and a track record of driving business growth with existing networks to win nature work

  • Experience leading projects and teams across climate or nature risk assessments, adaptation planning, and disclosures

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and present information in a highly sophisticated and polished manner

  • Experience developing adaptation plans and strategies for organisational resilience
