About the role | Te kaupapa
Key responsibilities of this tutoring role includefacilitating teaching, learning and assessment for Gasfitting students, withcourses including a strong hands-on practical learning component.
Teaching qualifications and experience are notessential for this position, however you must possess the followingqualities to ensure you have the potential to quickly grow into an effectivetutor: patience, adaptability, positive attitude, good communication skills anda reasonable level of physical fitness.
Successful applicants without teachingqualifications will be supported to achieve a Certificate in Adult TertiaryTeaching or similar tertiary teaching qualification through on-job training anddevelopment.
To be successful, you will have experience in theindustry and a relevant qualification (i.e. New Zealand Certificate or NationalCertificate in either Plumbing, Drainlaying or Gasfitting) and be a LicensedPractitioner or hold a Certifying qualification.
Applicants with multiple licenceclasses will be at an advantage, but we are also interested in talking with Drainlayersand Gasfitters, as there is scope to specialize.
The role is based at WelTec’s main campus inPetone.
Applicants will be required to undertake a police vetting check inorder to work with young people and should hold a current driver’s license.
