Contract: Permanent, full-time

About the Role
We are looking for a Plumbing Systems Manager to join our Infrastructure and Investment Group (IIG) in the Central region.

In this role you will lead the plumbing team and be responsible for ensuring the reliability of plumbing and drainage services to all Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley campuses.

You'll ensure high standards of work, mentor team members, and support the delivery of safe, reliable, and compliant services.


This role requires managerial, strategic and operational focus on preventative and reactive maintenance of plumbing infrastructure and the provision of technical feedback on projects.

This role works Monday - Friday, being on call one weekend every 6 weeks.

The salary range is $125,000 - $145,000.
About the Team/Service Location
The IIG team are focused on delivering high-impact infrastructure investments that support the transformation of New Zealand's health system.

Giving support, oversight and assurance across projects and programmes, they understand that safe, fit for purpose health facilities, sites and equipment are essential for a well-functioning health system that improves the health of all New Zealanders.
About you
You will bring management skills, technical expertise and take pride in leading a team delivering high quality work.

You would have worked in environments where reliability and precision are critical.

Understanding the importance of preventative and reactive maintenance across plumbing systems is essential.

Preference will be given to applicants who have a current Plumber and Drainlayer registration.

Advanced certificates and/or tertiary qualifications in compliance specific/related areas would also be advantageous.
Our team needs to be responsive to change, proactive in solving problems, and committed to maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

To do so, we need someone ready to lead by example, support the team, and ensure our plumbing infrastructure is maintained to the highest standard, helping deliver safe, reliable healthcare services to your community.
You will also bring:
* Trade or engineering qualifications in a relevant technical stream * Operational understanding of The Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and its requirements in relation to Plumbing delivery and supporting the wider Property and facilities team * Proven experience and understanding of legislation and compliance requirements of all relevant Codes and Acts to support effective operational delivery * Proven expertise in performing the managerial and technical aspects of the plumbing and drainage trade * Proven experience in effective planned preventative maintenance systems and sub-contractor management * Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills * Knowledge of, Project Management, Financial Management in operational support services and the NZ Health Sector and related legislation * Experience working in multicultural and diverse environments, with a strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) Act 2022 * Asset management and the reporting requirements for plant and infrastructureWorking for Health New Zealand
