Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Plant and Terminal Operator to join our team in Napier, New Zealand.
As a key member of our port operations, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and safe handling of fuel and petroleum products at our facility.
Operate and monitor plant equipment and terminal systems for efficient fuel handlingConduct bunker operations for vessels docked at the portAssist with tanker operations, including discharging fuel into terminal tanksPerform regular equipment inspections and basic maintenance tasksEnsure strict adherence to safety protocols and operating proceduresMaintain accurate records of all operations and transactionsCollaborate with team members to optimize workflow and meet operational goalsRespond promptly to any emergencies or equipment malfunctionsParticipate in ongoing training and safety drills to maintain operational readinessAssist with additional terminal duties as requiredQualifications
High school diploma or equivalentPrevious experience in plant operations, terminal operations, or related field preferredFull Class A New Zealand driver's licenseExcellent time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environmentStrong commitment to safety and adherence to operational proceduresPhysical fitness to perform manual handling tasks and work in various weather conditionsAbility to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidaysExcellent verbal and written communication skillsBasic computer skills for record-keeping and digital communicationDemonstrated reliability and team-oriented attitudeWillingness to undergo and pass a drug screening processAbility to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situationsQuick learner with a proactive approach to problem-solvingForklift certification is a plus, but not required (training may be provided)
