Payroll Partner - 6 month Fixed Term Job Opening In Auckland – Now Hiring The Warehouse Group

Reporting into the Head of Payroll, this vital role offers stability and a chance to contribute directly to the financial well-being and satisfaction of our valued employees across all TWG brands.  You’ll play a key role in ensuring service excellence through accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing for our store network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process monthly and fortnightly payrolls, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and NZ legislation.
  • Take full ownership of payroll for a designated region, acting as the key contact for payroll-related matters in that area.
  • Respond to payroll queries from employees and stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records, including prompt processing of hires, terminations, and changes, with a focus on data integrity.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement to enhance payroll efficiency and employee experience.
  • Stay updated on payroll-related legislation to ensure ongoing compliance.

Qualifications

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing, ideally in high volume environment.
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Experience or knowledge of ACC processes.
  • Familiarity with PAYE, KiwiSaver, student loans, and other NZ payroll deductions.
  • Experience with myIR and tax filing systems.
  • Solid understanding of New Zealand employment legislation (e.g., Holidays Act, Parental Leave Act).
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership, while contributing positively as a team player.
  • Adaptable, proactive, and open to change in dynamic environment.
  • A continuous learning mindset with a focus on accuracy and system integrity.
  • Experience with PayGlobal is a plus, but not essential.
