Responding to growth is a key focus area where Council secure open space for the increased demand whilst also ensuring that it is protected and enhanced.
He Angitutanga: The opportunity
We're seeking a Parks Consents Planner at an intermediate level for an exciting opportunity within our team.
You will use your technical and specialist knowledge and a keen interested in subdivisions, to provide input into the regulatory and consenting processes.
You will be based in Auckland's CBD where you will represent the Parks and Community Facilities (P & CF) perspective on parks, open space and recreation.
You will work as part of a team to deliver high-quality open space outcomes within the regulatory framework of the RMA processes that relate to growth and development.
You will receive mentoring and support from senior members of staff to build your skills and confidence.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about securing open space and parks and wants to take the next step in their planning career.
There is opportunity to assist with assessments associated with complex resource consent applications and third-party parks development processes, where you can develop your stakeholder relationship skills in a specialist planning input space, as well as provide advice to Local Boards.

You'll bring with you a minimum of 2-years regulatory planning or resource management processing experience, supported by a tertiary qualification in resource consent, planning policy or parks and open space planning to hit the ground running.
You will have proven experience in project management disciplines, delivering results and innovation in a high-profile public environment where you can also demonstrate your experience working with the Resource Management Act, Local Government Act and the Reserves Act.
We value our customers, and as a result of your customer focus, you will have an excellent track record of customer delivery.
It is also essential that you have a positive attitude toward problem solving and motivating others.
