Having been a community-based service for over 30 years we are known for our innovation and commitment to both Health and Psychosocial Care and continue the expansion of these vital services.In line with this commitment to best practice holistic care, we are looking to employ an experienced NZ registered Social Worker to ensure the social (familial, support, placement, care) needs and psychological (mental and emotional) needs of our patients and their families are appropriately met.In this role, you will deliver exceptional social care services and initiatives with individuals, families, couples and groups.
The aim of these services and initiatives is to create an opportunity for patients and their family/whanau to be supported in addressing the complex issues surrounding life limiting illness (dying, grief & loss) to enhance their quality of life.A professional of your calibre and experience will work collaboratively from an interdisciplinary practice philosophy in line with the values of Hospice West Auckland.
You will seek to contribute to service enhancement and development.In addition, you will have:Tertiary qualification in Social WorkHold current registration with the NZ Social Workers Registration Board and a valid practicing certificateExperience in medical social services, preferably in the field of palliative care and/or oncologyUnderstanding of community-based social services, preferably in a multi-cultural and socio-economic area similar to West Auckland.Knowledge and experience of family dynamics and relationship interactions between family members in times of loss and griefCurrent New Zealand Full Driver LicenceThis is a busy full time position, and there are abundant opportunities to learn and develop in the role.
