The Opportunity
NZ Hops is gearing up for a big season ahead — and we're looking for a capable Packing Shift Supervisor to help lead the charge.
This is a 4–5 month fixed-term role over their busy processing season, ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on leadership, problem-solving, and working in a fast-paced production environment.
You'll play a key role in keeping things running smoothly, leading a small team across the night shift to meet ambitious production targets.

The Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll lead a team of four on shift, ensuring safe and efficient operation of the hop packing line.
You'll oversee production flow, quality standards, and team performance while keeping things moving to meet daily targets.
Your practical know-how will also come in handy — whether it's handling minor mechanical fixes yourself or knowing who to call when something needs attention.
Key responsibilities include;
Supervising and supporting a team of four during shift operations
Overseeing packing, quality control, and production targets
Applying lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency
Troubleshooting equipment or escalating maintenance issues
Maintaining accurate shift reports and safety standards
Your Profile
We're looking for someone with a solid mix of people leadership, production know-how, and mechanical insight.
You'll be confident leading others, calm under pressure, and motivated by achieving team goals.
You'll also bring;
Experience in a manufacturing or processing environment
Strong people management and communication skills
Understanding of lean manufacturing or process improvement
Mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving ability
Flexibility to work night shifts (approx.
3pm – midnight)
