Operator - Transfer Station Job Opening In Auckland – Now Hiring Waste Management

Looking for a hands-on job where you can help keep things running smoothly and do your bit for the environment?

We’re on the lookout for a motivated Operator to join our amazing team in East Tamaki.

This is a permanent position on a rostered base over the 7 day period.

About the role

In this role, you’ll play a key part in sorting, collecting, and disposing of waste and recyclables, helping make sure our operations run safely, efficiently, and in line with our commitment to our customers and community.

No two days will be the same: one moment you’ll be helping customers with their drop-offs, the next you’ll be operating machinery or keeping the site looking its best.

It’s a varied role where you’ll stay active, work with a great crew, and make a real difference.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Keep an eye on where waste and recyclables are placed, helping customers get it right.
  • Operate onsite plant and equipment (if required)
  • Direct traffic on site and share info with customers
  • Look after the site, keeping buildings, grounds, roadways, and landscaping neat, tidy, and safe.
  • Pitch in with general labouring tasks when needed (we’re all about teamwork here).

Qualifications

  • Experience in the waste industry or production line work (ideal)
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. 
  • Minimum of Class 1 driver's license with wheels (W) and tracks (T) endorsements.
  • Good awareness of safety
