What you'll do
We have an opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Operator Maintainer to join our Rankine and Gas Turbine teams in Huntly.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a mechanical trade background looking for a new challenge
Reporting to our Maintenance Programme Manager - Gas Turbine, your key focus will be on ensuring the operation and maintenance of the generation and auxiliary plant, while ensuring resource consent, health and safety policies and regulation requirements are met.
The primary role involves shift work for up to six months a year, requiring 1-2 years of operational training, though there are potential opportunities for daywork roles.
Other responsibilities include:
Report on plant conditions, address defects, and manage audit/operation documentation
Support the asset management plan by performing maintenance tasks, site checks, and work package management
Use the Computerised Maintenance Management System to log failures, track time, and record equipment/material purchases
Keep maintenance documentation up to date, including procedures, work orders, job plans, and technical specs
Monitor, report, and address plant conditions and defects.
What you'll need
We seek a clear, confident communicator with strong mentoring and influencing skills.
You'll collaborate with diverse team members to meet targets and solve complex problems by breaking them down and identifying root causes.
Other key skills include:
Proven experience in maintenance within heavy mechanical or engineering environments
Mechanical Trade Certificate or equivalent qualifications or experience in a related field
Flexibility, this role can include both day and shift work
