About the Role – Korero mo te Turanga
We're looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Operations Support Officer to join our Forestry ETS Operations team within Te Uru Rakau – New Zealand Forest Service.
This is a key role supporting the administration and technical delivery of the Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) for forestry.
As an Operations Support Officer, you will:
* Provide administrative and technical support to the Forestry ETS Operations team.
* Assist with managing the ETS operations caseload and contribute to the delivery of technical outputs.
* Monitor internal inboxes, maintain records, collate reports, and support document preparation.
* Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operational delivery.
* Support system and process improvements and contribute to quality assurance and data analysis.
About You – Mou
You'll bring a strong mix of administrative, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills.
You'll be comfortable working in a regulatory environment and contributing to operational excellence.
We're especially interested in candidates who have:
* A tertiary qualification in science, forestry, economics, statistics, or a related field.
* Experience in operational roles involving administration, analysis, and quality control.
* Familiarity with regulations and rules in a government setting.
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
* Experience working with databases and managing transactional processes.
About the Team – Mo to matou Ropu
You'll be part of the Forestry ETS Operations Group within the Forestry Operations Directorate.
The team is responsible for administering and regulating the ETS for Forestry, helping Aotearoa meet its climate change obligations and driving us towards a low-emissions economy.
You'll collaborate with Operations Analysts, Senior Analysts, and Team Leaders to support delivery and outcomes.
