Operations Support Job Opening In Christchurch – Now Hiring QJumpers

About the role

- What you’ll be doing 

Reporting to the Base Services Manager, you will provide a full range of administrative services to support our team.

Our Christchurch based Operations Team provide logistical support for external scientists to achieve their research outcomes.

With operational complexity increasing associated with the Scott Base Redevelopment and the Antarctic Science Platform requests, the organisation must work closely with stakeholders to forecast and plan for future requirements.


Key Responsibilities Include: 

  • Providing technical and administrative support and advice to all users of our event management platform.

  • Coordinating and supporting the delivery of pre-deployment training for Scott Base staff (ANZAP) 
  • Pre-deployment support including recruitment, travel arrangements and accommodation 
  • Liaise with stakeholders (internal/external) as part of the annual event planning process 
  • Ensure pre and post deployment requirements have been completed for all event personnel 
  • Manage the Antarctica NZ medical process 
  • Minute taking in support of team meetings 
  • Planning support and coordination of internal events

  • Tertiary Diploma or National Certificate in related field 
  • Minimum three years professional administrative experience (word processing, data entry, customer service, stakeholder management) 
  • Experience in Finance, Payroll, HR, Medical or similar sectors working with highly confidential content will be highly regarded
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills 
  • Demonstrated use of initiative and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage and prioritise competing tasks 
  • Proficiency in a variety of digital platforms and proven ability to learn new systems
