Operations & Projects Engineer – Full Time (Auckland, NZ)
About the Role
We are seeking a highly capable and motivated Operations & Projects Engineer to join our Auckland -based team.
This is a multifunctional role that combines hands‑on operational responsibilities with project coordination, technical delivery, and client management.
The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring the smooth operation of our reagent production plant, while also contributing to the delivery of engineering and water treatment projects across New Zealand.
Key Responsibilities
1.
Plant Operations & Process Management
- Oversee the day‑to‑day running of the chemical production plant, ensuring optimal safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Conduct or coordinate routine inspections, maintenance coordination, and process troubleshooting.
- Implement and monitor operational procedures to ensure compliance with H&S and environmental standards.
- Work with suppliers and contractors to ensure the reliable supply of materials and services.
2.
Project Management & Delivery
- Support project delivery in planning, scheduling, and executing engineering and water treatment projects.
- Coordinate logistics, procurement, and documentation for project delivery.
- Assist in preparing project reports, risk assessments, and quality assurance documentation.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
3.
Client Servicing & Documentation
- Manage and update client servicing plans, maintenance schedules, and performance records.
- Prepare technical documentation, operational manuals, and service reports.
- Ensure consistent and professional communication with clients and stakeholders.
4.
Continuous Improvement & Systems Support
- Identify opportunities to improve plant performance, process safety, and project workflows.
- Assist in developing internal systems for project tracking, asset management, and operational reporting.
- Contribute to the implementation of new technologies and process upgrades.
Skills & Qualifications
Essential
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Process, or similar discipline).
- 2+ years of experience in plant operations, process engineering, or project delivery.
- Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination abilities.
- Sound understanding of H&S, quality management, and environmental compliance.
Desirable
- Experience in water treatment, chemical production, or industrial process operations.
- Project coordination or project management experience.
- Proficiency with MS Office and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Asana, or similar).
- Current NZ driver’s license and ability to travel to client sites as required.
