About the role
We want you to share knowledge and guide our learners as they gain the skills, competence and confidence to become work-ready graduate nurses.
Nursing is complex and evolving, we seek applicants with passion and enthusiasm to work with ākonga across all programmes in the School of Nursing including the three years of the Bachelor of Nursing Programme and the eighteen-month New Zealand Diploma in Enrolled Nursing.
Our graduates are known for their strengths in nursing and knowledge gained during their learning journey with Otago Polytechnic.
We have available two positions:
Your role will be teaching and clinical supervision and include:
· preparing and delivering content for assigned courses including online and face-to-face at block courses, and marking
· using a range of approaches to ensure learners are engaged within their learning creating outstanding learning experiences
· work with colleagues to plan, develop and contribute to the review of courses to ensure they meet learning needs and industry requirements.
· provide pastoral support as needed.
This position is an opportunity for an experienced nurses professional to share their expertise with enthusiastic ākonga.

To be successful in this role, you will:
· be a Registered Nurse with a current Practicing Certificate and with clinical experience
· be able to integrate sustainable practices within your teaching
· hold a recognised relevant teaching qualification or the willingness to complete such a qualification
· have a completed relevant Masters qualification or be on the pathway to completion
· have highly developed IT skills and a willingness to use innovative new approaches to learning.
· have excellent communication skills with a natural ability to engage and build relationship
· have good computer literacy and ability to use full suite of Microsoft products (particularly Word, Excel and SharePoint/Teams)
· be committed to help students learn
