Mechanical Design Engineer Job Opening In Christchurch – Now Hiring Technical Recruitment Solutions Ltd


Job description

Our client is a high-end customised solution design, manufacture, and commissioning company, specialising in mechanical, automation and robotic production machinery.

They work throughout New Zealand and internationally with a global customer base providing customised solutions using the latest technology to optimise production.

With growth and expansion comes the need for additional people and we are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Christchurch based team.


The Role
You will be responsible for converting design briefs into design details and working drawings, seeing the results of your design through to manufacture and completion.
 
Specifically, you will:

  • Design mechanical, electrical, automation products – componentry, machinery and production lines

  • Set up and test mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems

  • Prepare manufacturing, arrangement and parts drawings and prepare BOMs.

  • Ensure overall project compliance with relevant standards.

  • Assist and/or lead onsite commissioning

  • Mentor and support less experienced engineers
  • To be successful in the role you will be:

  • Tertiary qualified Mechanical Engineering (BE Mech)

  • Experienced with Mechanical Design of mechanical and automation systems

  • Proven in manufacturing industry/materials handling/conveyor and/or food industry design

  • Advanced with SolidWorks and AutoCAD proficiency

  • Experienced in preparing manufacturing drawings – GD&T, welding requirements, dimensioning, etc.
  • Personally, you will have excellent communication skills, be a proven team player and be committed and motivated to completing work in an accurate and timely manner.
