SUPPLY CHAINRocket Lab's Supply Chain team is responsible for the flow of all materials, products, and components through the business.
With many of our own products functioning as critical components to our own and our customers' missions, the Supply Chain team has a direct impact on the success of our rocket and satellite programs.
They set up the assembly kits that enables our technicians to put together our Electron rockets, manage inventory, look after shipping and receiving, manage direct and indirect procurement, and inspect and ensure that all of our materials and products are compliant and up to standard.
They are the chain that links our teams together and are critical to our success.MATERIAL PLANNERWe are currently seeking a Material Planner to join our highly dynamic Supply Chain team based in Auckland.A Material Planner in the Neutron division plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless flow of materials required for Neutron.
This position involves meticulous planning, scheduling, and coordination of materials to support the production and development of neutron-based technologies.In this role you will collaborate closely with procurement, engineering, and production teams to forecast material needs, manage inventory levels, and mitigate any potential disruptions in the supply chain.
By leveraging advanced planning tools and data analytics, the Material Planner ensures that all materials meet the stringent quality and safety standards essential for neutron applications, ultimately contributing to the success and innovation in the field of neutron science.WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DOResponsible for demand, supply, and fulfilment planning within MRPResponsible for ensuring bill of materials, parts and master data are maintained within ERPAccountable for timely release of purchase planning messages to ProcurementAccountable for timely release of work orders to ProductionResponsible for updating demand to accommodate Engineering Change Orders ensuring all the relevant teams are updatedAccountable for creating visibility of material position (with line of balance reports, material shortage reports, clear to build reports, etc.)Work in a cross functional team environment as a strong team player and demonstrate ability to work with other functional groups to achieve company-wide goalsOther duties asked by your manager, relevant to your roleYOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, supply chain or other relevant fields2+ years proven experience in a similar role with the ability to work well under pressure, managing timelines associatedProven ability to produce material line of balance, and conduct clear to build reviewsProven knowledge of Material Planning fundamentals for master data management, order policy, BOM management, and planning release and fulfillment.Proficient in MRP systemsProficient in MS Office, ERP systems, math and statisticsTHESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:Proficient in MRP systemsPrior experience in aerospace, EV automotive, or other disruptive manufacturing industriesPrior experience in rapid growth environmentAbility to read and interpret engineering drawingsExperience with AS9100, US export controlsStrong organizational and problem-solving skillsExcellent verbal and written communication abilitiesTeam oriented, strong ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment and to multiple deadlinesStrong organisational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively and efficientlyWHAT TO EXPECTWe're on a mission to unlock the potential of space to improve life on Earth, but that's not an easy task.
