We’re looking for aMarket Analystwho will play a central role in building our presence in the New Zealand energy market.

You’ll join our global team of highly skilled specialists, but your focus will be on the New Zealand market - where your insights and expertise will directly influence investment decisions, trading strategies, and the growth of our portfolio.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the development of forecasting models for electricity, hydro, transmission, and demand in New Zealand
  • Analyse market fundamentals and provide the strategic assumptions that shape key business investments
  • Develop revenue stacking and optimisation models for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
  • Drive initiatives in machine learning, data science, and coding to improve our tools and models
  • Translate complex data into actionable insights, highlighting emerging risks and opportunities
  • Act as the go-to expert on the New Zealand markets, advising senior stakeholders
  • Mentor and support colleagues, fostering a culture of continuous learning

What you bring

  • At least7 years of industry experience, with a minimum of 5 years working in the New Zealand market.

  • Proven expertise inlong-term electricity market modelling, revenue forecasting (PPAs, renewables, BESS), and strategic portfolio optimisation.

  • Strong coding and analytical skills, with experience in machine learning and advanced data science.

  • A reputation as a recognised subject matter expert, able to provide thought leadership and influence key business decisions.

  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to integrate your work into a global team environment.
