    About the Role

    The principal
    objective of this role is to establish, develop and maintain training
    programmes and provide advice to management and staff regarding safe moving
    & handling practices which meet statutory, quality and injury prevention
    requirements.

    About the
    Team/Service/ Location

    The role reports to
    the Occupational Therapy Clinical Leader and has functional relationships with
    clinical leaders across the hospital service, the Health and Safety Committee, Quality
    and Risk and moving and handling champions.

    About you

    This role is suited to
    a health care professional such as a RN, EN, Physio or OT and or a health care
    worker with experience in a similar role and a qualification in ergonomics,
    moving & handling and someone with an adult teaching qualification and
    experience would be advantageous.

    Additionally;

  • Experience
    of developing and delivering moving & handling training programmes,
    including the use of equipment, for all staff
  • Knowledge
    and experience with NZ legislation and the NZ Patient Handling guidelines plus
    other relevant legislation ( see position description for the full list)
  • Effective
    presentation and group facilitation skills and ability to coach and facilitate
    change
  • IT
    literate, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Working at Health
