We're looking for a skilled and motivated Maintainer - Supervisor to join our Generation Maintenance team.

This is a unique opportunity to combine your electrical expertise with day-to-day team supervision, supporting the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality maintenance across our hydro generation assets.

Reporting to the Maintenance Delivery Lead, you will be part of a team of 6 Supervisors supporting our Maintainers.

This role focuses on electrical responsibilities, working mainly from our Maraetai Hydro Station, but will also support other sites across generation as needed, giving you opportunities to be exposed to different generation sites, including our geothermal stations.

  • Leading a squad of up to five maintainers, providing daily direction and support.
  • Acting as the key link between the team and the Maintenance Delivery Lead.
  • Managing work orders, job plans, and ensuring parts and resources are on site.
  • Booking and closing out jobs, reporting failures, and identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Supporting continuous improvement and capability building across the team.
  • Staying hands-on—this role is approximately 80% on the tools, with 20% supervisory responsibilities.

  • You've got solid experience in electrical maintenance—ideally in heavy industry or generation.
  • You've had exposure to leadership, mentoring, or supervisory roles.
  • You're confident managing work plans and coordinating a team, even if they don't report directly to you.
  • You're proactive, safety-focused, and keen to help others grow.
  • You need to be EWRB registered and have a current Practising Licence.
  • Advantage - if you have worked in hydro or geothermal environments.
