Job description

Lecturer – Public Policy (Economics)
University of Auckland – School of Social Sciences, Faculty of Arts and Education.
We are inviting applications for a full-time, permanent Lecturer in Public Policy (Economics) to support the Master of Public Policy (MPP) programme and the Public Policy Institute.
This role focuses on teaching (online and on-campus), student supervision, research, and service.
Responsibilities
Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching within the MPP programme, including online and classroom delivery.
Supervise MPP and PhD students and coordinate online and on-campus dissertation enrolments and examinations.
Produce high-quality research in public policy, economics, and related areas.
Actively participate in service activities and contribute to the Public Policy Institute.
Engage with local and central government and foster relationships with Maori and Pacific communities.
Qualifications
PhD in Public Policy or a related discipline (Economics, Politics, Maori Studies, Indigenous Studies, Pacific Studies, Political Economy, Sociology, Law, Public Administration, etc.).
Experience in postgraduate teaching, including online instruction.
Demonstrated research record and capacity for high-quality research.
Experience in supervising dissertation and thesis students (advantage).
Strong community engagement skills and willingness to work with Maori and Pacific communities; familiarity with Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Workload and Salary
40% teaching, 40% research, 20% service.
Full-time (40 hrs per week).
Remuneration $97,831–$116,867 (dependent on qualifications and experience).
Preferred start date: 1 January ****.
