Are you passionate about teaching the next generation of health professionals?

The Paramedicine department is seeking an Auckland-based staff member with a strong passion for teaching.


We would be particularly pleased to fill this role with someone who has strengths in paramedicine (or similar related healthcare roles).

However, we are open to the unique strengths and opportunities that other candidates may bring to this role.

The successful applicant will demonstrate a purposeful commitment to a Te Tiriti o Waitangi curriculum, aligned with the competencies of Te Kaunihera Manapou - Paramedic Council New Zealand.


While a master's/doctoral qualification is preferred, we welcome applicants who have strengths in paramedic practice and knowledge in tikanga Māori.


The successful candidate will actively engage in delivering education in the undergraduate and postgraduate Paramedicine programmes.

They will be supported by the paramedicine teaching team and, for Māori candidates, there will be an opportunity to join the growing Māori network within the School of Clinical Sciences.

The successful applicant will actively engage in facilitating the delivery of education at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

To achieve great outcomes in this role, you will bring:


  • Commitment to teaching across a range of Paramedicine practice courses
  • Clinical experience in the field of paramedicine (or a related healthcare field)
  • A purposeful commitment to a Te Tiriti o Waitangi curriculum
  • Strong communication skills

  • The successful applicant will:


  • Work with the Paramedicine team to support the success and progression of all students
  • Have a desire to develop and/or contribute to a programme of research
  • Contribute to ongoing curriculum development
  • Communicate effectively and show a commitment to a collaborative team environment

    Teaching Path - $84,000 - $100,000 per annum (appointment level and salary commensurate with skills and experience)


    Career Path - $92,000 - $110,000 per annum (appointment level and salary commensurate with skills and experience)
