Job description

Lecturer – Law School

The University of Auckland’s Faculty of Law is looking for a high‑quality researcher and innovative teacher who is prepared to also take on service and leadership roles within the faculty and university.

Responsibilities

  • Teach and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students.

  • Produce high‑quality research and publish in peer‑reviewed journals.

  • Engage in service and leadership within the faculty and university.

  • Contribute to the development of courses in areas such as Tikanga, Te Tiriti, public law, and Part One courses.

Qualifications

  • LLB (or equivalent) and post‑graduate law qualifications.

  • PhD in Law or another discipline highly desirable.

  • Experience teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level desirable.

  • Strong research record and ability to secure funding.

Employment Details

Full‑time, 40 hours per week, permanent contract.

Salary range: Lecturer Step 1 NZ$ 97,831 – Lecturer Step 5 NZ$ 110,520 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications.
