Role type: Permanent, Part-time (20 hours per week)


Location: Wellington City


Salary band & range: F $76,463 - $89,215 depending on skills and experience

About the Role - Kōrero mō te Tūranga


We're looking for a Learning Programme Coordinator to join our Learning & Development (L&D) team at MPI.

This role plays a key part in supporting the delivery of learning programmes and initiatives across the organisation.

You'll coordinate logistics, liaise with external vendors, manage finances, and help create engaging learning experiences for our people.

This is a part-time, 20 hours/week role with flexible core days and times.

You'll be the primary contact for finance administration and reporting.

You'll join a fun, friendly team where no two days are the same.

You won't need an L&D background to thrive in this role, but you will like working with numbers and finance and possibly have an events background or mindset.

In this role, you will:

  • Coordinate learning programmes and liaise with external vendors

  • Manage invoicing, purchase orders, and finance-related reporting

  • Organise and support courses and respond to queries about L&D offerings

  • Be the contact for end-of-month reporting and finance admin

  • Bring an approachable, friendly, and people-focused attitude

  • Support the L&D team and work closely with the Learning Facilitators to deliver digital learning

  • Thrive in a busy environment with variety and meaningful work
  • You will occasionally support residential programmes which would include rare overnight stays with accommodation provided.

    You don't need a background in L&D just strong coordination skills, a love of admin, and confidence managing multiple priorities.

    You're digitally savvy, great with people, and enjoy making things run smoothly behind the scenes.

    To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

  • Strong relationship management and communication skills

  • Confidence using digital tools and learning management systems

  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement

  • Familiarity with vendor management and procurement processes

  • Ability to manage data, reporting, and internal communications effectively

  • High competence with Microsoft including SharePoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook
