Join our awesome Learn to Swim team and help tamariki build confidence and life-saving aquatic skills — all while having fun!
If you adore little ones and have a knack for making learning fun, this role is for you!
You'll be working with our youngest swimmers — from 6 months to 4 years old — helping them (and their whanau!) feel safe and happy in the water.
It's all about having fun, smiles, and splashes!
When: Saturday morningsWhere: KCDC Pools
Passionate about teaching school-aged kids?
Help local tamariki gain essential water safety skills through our school group Learn to Swim programmes.
You'll be working during school hours across our KCDC pools — Coastlands Aquatic Centre, Otaki Pool, and Waikanae Pool.

To excel in this role, you will have:
Effective interpersonal skills with a demonstrated commitment to customer service and willingness to and capability for dealing with a wide range of people within and outside the organisation.
Enthusiastic and positive attitude towards swimming and learning.
Perseverance, patience, sensitivity and the ability to put people at ease.
Ability to inspire confidence and motivate swimmers.
Experience in facilitating aquatic activities an advantage but not a requirement
An understanding of swimming skills and lifesaving methods.
Training and qualifications will be provided, however holding any one of the following is a definite advantage:
First Aid Certificate
Austswim Teacher of Swimming & Water Safety
NZ Certificate in Aquatics (Swim & Water Safety Teacher) Level 3
