About The Company
As the Lead Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in optimising performance and fulfilling strategic objectives through the leadership and management of the Clients Innovation software team.

Your expertise will guide the creation of bespoke engineering solutions in collaboration with internal and external partners, ensuring that the software capabilities align with the ambitious innovation delivery project pipeline.

Role

In this influential position, your responsibilities will include:

  • Defining and steering the long-term technical software vision, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.

  • Architecting and delivering innovative solutions across web, mobile, and hardware platforms, with a keen focus on usability, performance, and reliability.

  • Scoping, budgeting, designing, and implementing robust projects that include APIs, data processing pipelines, and analytical tools, directly impacting real-time and analytical workflows for coaches and athletes.

  • Supporting the Head of Innovation in delivering strategic initiatives and aligning with the direction set by the senior innovation team.

  • Championing modern engineering practices such as CI/CD, automated testing, and agile methodologies.

  • Mentoring and developing a team of developers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Leading the modernisation of legacy systems and facilitating the migration to scalable, cloud-native platforms.

  • Establishing positive working relationships with Support providers, campaign coaches, and Performance Directors across various sports.

About You

To thrive in this role, you should possess:

  • A minimum of 8 years of professional software development experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.

  • Proven ability to articulate and execute long-term technical strategy.

  • Experience leading initiatives for modernising systems and managing technical debt, with a focus on agile methodologies.

  • Strategic thinking and the ability to deliver cutting-edge solutions that empower athletes and performance teams.

  • Strong problem-solving capabilities coupled with excellent communication skills.
