Through integration and collaboration, we're building a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability, whanau-centred care, and excellence.About the RoleThe Lead Business Analyst – Dunedin Hospital Build operates at the delivery level, responsible for leading and delivering the business analysis effort across programmes, projects, and products.
This role collaborates closely with business stakeholders, delivery teams, capability managers, product managers, and other Business Analysts to ensure business analysis outcomes meet high standards and align with organisational objectives.
The Lead Business Analyst also provides leadership and support to Business Analysts within their assigned teams, setting clear delivery expectations and fostering a collaborative, well-supported environment.
Additionally, the role contributes to overall capability improvement within the business analysis function.About the Team/Service/ LocationThe Lead Business Analyst sits within the Digital Delivery function, part of the wider Digital Services Group at Health New Zealand.
Reporting to senior delivery leadership, this role is part of a national team dedicated to delivering high-quality business analysis across programmes, projects, and products.
The team works closely with business stakeholders, capability managers, product managers, and delivery teams to ensure business analysis outcomes are consistently achieved to a high standard.
Focused on capability development and collaborative leadership, the team plays a key role in supporting Health New Zealand's digital transformation and ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.About youYou are an experienced business analysis professional with a strong background in leading complex projects within technology-focused environments.
You bring a pragmatic, results-driven approach and excellent leadership skills, enabling you to guide teams to deliver high-quality business analysis outcomes aligned with organisational needs.
Comfortable collaborating with diverse stakeholders—including executives, technical teams, and end-users—you are skilled at managing priorities and driving continuous improvement.You will also have the following skills and experience to support your success in the role:Minimum 7 years' experience in business analysis, including at least 3 years in a lead or senior capacity.Proven expertise in leading complex requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation efforts.Deep understanding of software development methodologies and tools.Relevant bachelor's degree and preferred certification in business analysis (e.g., CBAP, IIBA CCBA).
