Job description

We are looking for a laboratory technician at a beginner or intermediate level to join our team in Onehunga.

This fulltime permanent role is a great opportunity for someone straight out of university or looking to kickstart or grow their CMT laboratory testing career.

This is an opportunity to join a leading specialist geotechnical testing company with a broad scope of testing.

The work will be hands-on and physical and therefore requires a reasonable degree of physical capability.

  • Conducting geotechnical laboratory tests on soil, rock, aggregate, and concrete samples.

  • Entering, processing, and reporting data accurately.

  • Collaborating with clients to ensure high-quality project outcomes
  • Performing all work in accordance with our IANZ accreditation and project management system
  • Ideally you will have a degree or diploma in Geography, Geology, Earth Sciences, Physical Science, or similar.

  • A full, clean NZ driver’s licence
  • Physically capable to handle and test samples up to 25 kg
  • Computer literate, especially Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Attention to detail and quality
  • Hardworking, self-motivated and a positive attitude
  • Able to work autonomously with minimal supervision and collaborate with team members
  • Excellent communication skills and the flexibility to adapt quickly to change
  • Safety conscious
  • Conscientious, taking ownership of deliverables on time and to budget
