OverviewWe are on the lookout for a Kaihautu Ratonga Tahua Putea | Finance Manager based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara | Wellington.12

This is Te Tumu Paeroa, guardian, support and advancer of the mana of Maori land everywhere.Our role is to provide professional trustee services for Maori.
We do this by carrying out the terms of trusts and ensuring the whenua is protected and enhanced for future generations.About the RoleAs Kaihautu Ratonga Tahua Putea | Finance Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the financial future of Te Tumu Paeroa.
This is a high-impact leadership position where your strategic thinking, financial expertise, and people-first approach will directly influence outcomes for Maori landowners and the wider organisation.This is a dynamic and hands-on role that offers variety, challenge, and reward.
No two days are the same, and while the pace can be demanding, the outcomes are deeply satisfying and impactful.Some of the responsibilities as part of this role include:Oversee all core finance functions — accounting, payroll, forecasting, budgeting, tax, and corporate insurance.Ensure robust financial asset management across the General Purposes Fund and Common Fund Balance Sheets.Provide trusted advice to the Corporate Services Director and Senior Leadership Team.Support the Maori Trustee in achieving strategic and financial goals that make a real difference.Lead all financial activities with confidence and clarity.Be the go-to expert for financial insights that guide decision-making and long-term planning.The Finance Manager is instrumental in ensuring our financial systems and strategies are robust, future-focused, and aligned with our mission.You will play a key role in delivering on our strategic and financial goals.
This is a pivotal position that combines people leadership, financial stewardship, and strategic influence — all in service of our kaupapa.
As a skilled leader you will foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Build, mentor, and inspire a skilled Finance team to deliver exceptional results.As Finance Manager, you will:Lead and develop a high-performing Finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and excellence.Oversee all core finance functions, including accounting, payroll, forecasting, budgeting, tax, and corporate insurance.Ensure effective financial asset management of the General Purposes Fund and Common Fund Balance Sheets.Provide strategic financial advice to the Corporate Services Director, Maori Trustee, and Senior Leadership Team.Support organisational decision-making by directing financial activities and contributing to long-term planning.Qualifications and requirements:Pa e Tahi- Te Whakahua | A desire and ability to practise correct pronunciation of Te Reo Maori (essential).
Pa e Tahi- No Ia Ra | An understanding and living of Tikanga Maori on a day-to-day level, for example, the removing of shoes before entering a whare, washing hands at the urupa and not sitting on tables (essential).
