We're paddling our own waka forward in leading significant change in enhancing the mana, wellbeing and prosperity of Ngati Toa and the communities in which we thrive.Te Runanga o Toa Rangatira supports te reo Maori and tikanga in teaching and learning, with a focus on reo revitalisation and growth of tamariki and whanau.About the roleWe are a kaupapa Maori Puna Reo where tamariki thrive in a nurturing, reo Maori–rich environment.
Our dream is for all kaiako to be confident, fluent speakers of te reo Maori.
If you're on that journey, this is your opportunity — join our puna reo whanau where you can teach, learn, and be supported to grow your reo every day.We are seeking:Qualified ECE kaiako (ECE teaching qualification + registration).
Fluent speakers of te reo Maori or those committed to their reo Maori journey.Teachers with a passion for tamariki, whanau, and kaupapa Maori values.Team players open to ongoing learning, mentoring, and professional development.When applying, please include a full work history with your cover letter and CV, detailing the length of each role.
This is a requirement of the Vulnerable Children's Act 2014, and providing this information upfront will help speed up the process if your application is successful.
Additionally, please provide two referees who can speak to your Kaiako practice and/or your suitability for the position.About youYour high-level experience and professional expertise in teaching tamariki is a given, and you will be excited to engage and learn alongside Ngati Toa.
You will be well practiced with/in:Successfully implementing Te Whariki within all aspects of teaching and learning.Supporting tamariki with a powerful sense of identity, language and culture as Maori.Working collaboratively in a team environment.But the thing that will really stand out is your love for teaching, and the tamariki.
