Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The Opportunity We’re looking for an Infrastructure Build Manager to take the lead in shaping and delivering some of our most complex and high-value network programmes.

In this role, you’ll provide the structure, governance, and leadership needed to drive large projects from initial business planning right through to customer connection.

With oversight across multiple workstreams, facilitating delivery via our service partners, you’ll manage budgets, resources, risks, and stakeholder expectations, ensuring every programme you lead is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of serviceability.

As a trusted leader, you’ll create an environment of collaboration and accountability, working closely with Network Deployment Managers, regional service teams, and partners to identify challenges and implement smart, sustainable solutions.

You’ll be the driving force behind consistent customer focus, whether that’s managing escalations, securing consents for build activity, or ensuring all capability is delivered seamlessly into operational service.

Beyond project delivery, this role is about building trust and relationships – within Chorus, across our partner network, and with the communities we serve.

You’ll play a critical role in aligning programmes to our long-term strategy, embedding continuous improvement, and ensuring every decision supports Chorus’ vision and commitment to delivering a world-class network.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in complexity, is commercially astute, and knows how to deliver outcomes that balance efficiency, quality, and customer experience.

Ō Wheako, ō Pūkenga | Your Experience You’ll be an experienced leader with a proven track record of delivering large, complex network or infrastructure projects.

With deep operational knowledge, commercial acumen, and the ability to influence and lead diverse teams, you’ll bring the right balance of strategic oversight and hands-on delivery focus.

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

  • At least 7+ years’ experience in operational and/or deployment of networks
  • A strong background in contract and project management
  • Managing partner performance
  • Deep understanding of telecommunication or utility network operations, including provisioning, restoration, maintenance, and build
  • Excellent relationship and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven ability in financial and commercial management with sound judgement
  • Strong leadership and people management capability, including building collaboration and managing diversity
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve, negotiate, and communicate effectively at all levels
  • A track record of delivering results under pressure, showing accountability, energy, and adaptability
  • Customer focus – ensuring solutions are aligned to end-user needs and long-term service outcomes
