Urgent! Infrastructure Advocate Job Opening In WorkFromHome – Now Hiring Portainer.io

Infrastructure Advocate

Job description

Portainer is looking for an Infrastructure Advocate, someone who’s lived the reality of enterprise IT operations and knows what it takes to run critical infrastructure under pressure.

This isn’t developer relations or traditional marketing—it’s a peer‑to‑peer advocacy role where your real‑world experience gives you the credibility to speak directly to our users.

You’ve managed systems nobody thanked you for, survived endless change‑control meetings, juggled conflicting priorities, and stretched thin budgets.

Our users live in that same world, so you’ll turn that lived experience into high‑impact content—especially videos—that helps the community understand the value of Portainer in an enterprise context.

Show, don’t tell: break down complex problems, share how you’d solve them, and become a trusted voice for infrastructure professionals everywhere.

Who You Are

  • You come from customer‑land, not vendor‑land.

You’ve been inside an enterprise IT operations team, ideally as an infrastructure manager, senior systems admin, or platform engineer in a traditional enterprise environment.

  • Experience with containerization technologies and specifically Kubernetes is preferred.

  • You understand the realities of risk‑averse, budget‑constrained environments where perfection isn’t possible.

  • You have strong communication skills and enjoy turning hard‑earned operational lessons into clear, compelling stories.

  • You’re comfortable on camera or in front of an audience, and you can produce content that feels authentic, not polished for marketing’s sake.

  • You care about helping peers make safe, confident technology decisions.

Requirements

  • Craft compelling messaging that deeply resonates with infrastructure and operations professionals—addressing their pain points, acknowledging real‑world complexity, and demonstrating genuine empathy.

  • Develop authentic, high‑impact content across multiple formats (blogs, videos, webinars, product narratives) that is concise, educational, and trustworthy.

  • Design and maintain credible demo environments that reflect how enterprise IT truly operates—imperfect, political, and full of constraints—to ensure every demonstration feels real, not idealized.

  • Champion Portainer’s presence in the community by engaging in social and technical discussions, answering questions, and building trust as a respected and relatable peer.

  • Bridge customers and internal teams by coaching product and marketing on the realities of modern infrastructure, ensuring messaging, positioning, and roadmap decisions reflect real user environments.

  • Shape product and web messaging to clearly articulate value to the ideal customer profile (ICP) and their day‑to‑day operational challenges.

Key Skills

  • Proven experience with large‑scale infrastructure deployments.

  • Background in developer education, advocacy, or evangelism.

  • Demonstrated ability to create and deliver engaging video content.

  • Skilled in building and presenting effective product demonstrations.

  • Deep technical understanding of Kubernetes, Docker, Podman, and Linux.

  • Solid knowledge of cloud platforms and developer toolchains.

  • Native English fluency with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Benefits

At Portainer, we offer a highly competitive salary, stock options, and insurance, while you help solve some of the most exciting challenges in tech.

Since benefits can vary based on your location, we’ll tailor the perfect package to suit you, because the right talent deserves the right perks.

Let’s do this.
