Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
We are seeking a Human Health Research Coordinator to join our team at the Liggins Institute.
This role is pivotal in coordinating human health research studies, working closely with Principal Investigators, research nurses, midwives, and other research staff to ensure the successful delivery of project objectives.
You'll be responsible for managing clinical research activities, monitoring timelines, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting participant engagement.
This is a dynamic role that offers variety and the opportunity to contribute to impactful research that improves health outcomes across New Zealand.
This position provides parental leave cover and is offered as a part-time (22.5 hours per week), fixed-term role for up to 12 months, with the possibility of additional hours depending on team and project needs.
The salary range for this role is $66,801 – $77,800 depending on skills and experience.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. nursing, public health, allied health or science)
2–3 years' experience in clinical research, ideally around clinical trials
Strong project coordination skills, with the ability to manage timelines, documentation, and communication across multiple studies
High attention to detail and accuracy in data handling, reporting, and participant engagement
Experience preparing and submitting ethics applications and working within regulatory frameworks
Knowledge of the New Zealand healthcare and maternity system, including familiarity with clinical environments
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to confidently engage a diverse network of stakeholders
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
