Job description

The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced HSEQ Advisor to join our team in Māngere, Auckland on a full-time basis.

In this role, you will strengthen a culture of safety, quality, wellbeing, and environmental responsibility by ensuring compliance with ISO-certified management systems and proactively managing risks.

You will also drive continuous improvement through education, engagement, and auditing, while providing operational support as needed.

In addition, you may be a Health and Safety Coordinator who just started on your journey as an Advisor.

Key responsibilities:

  • Quality and safety assurance: You will draw from experience and be focused on providing quality and safety assurance by ensuring that systems, processes, and activities are not only designed to protect the team but are also working effectively and consistently.

  • Systems and Structure: You will bring experience in coordinating clear safety systems and frameworks that support safety audits, training, incident management, and continuous improvement.

  • Quality management systems (QMS): You will be experienced with coordinating and implementing quality QMS being familiar with Iso standards such as ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001.

  • Hands on role: This is a practical role working closely with teams to identify risks, implement preventative measures, and foster a strong safety culture.

    You will play an active role in all safety initiatives across the mining sector within the business.

About you:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 management system roles.

  • Qualification in Work Health & Safety, essential (minimum Certificate IV in H&S or above).

  • Practical experience in other safety and assurance roles.

  • Sound knowledge of NZ Health & Safety at Work Act (2015) and related regulations.

  • Competent in MS Word, Excel, and general computer applications.

  • Strong report writing and documentation skills.

  • Previous experience in engineering or manufacturing industries.

  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methods (Lean, 5S, root cause analysis).
