The Health and Safety Coordinator supports the Navy's Health and Safety unit with administration and by contributing to the workflows necessary to support the Leadership, Risk Management, and other Defence Force Health and Safety policy requirements.
As the successful applicant, your responsibilities would include the following:
* Logging and communicating requests from partners or stakeholders and escalating them to the proper persons as necessary.
* Administration and secretarial support, including (but not limited to) booking of venues, the circulation agenda, taking of meeting minutes, booking of travel, and more.
* Contributing to the planning, processes, and development of resources to help meet the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.
* Assisting (when directed) with Safety investigations, Assurance or Training, promotion, and engagement activities.

This role will require an experienced Coordinator (ideally 3-5 years) in the Health and Safety field.
The successful candidate will possess exceptional attention to detail and confidence in communicating with a wide-range of individuals and stakeholders.
As well as possessing the above, you will also exhibit the following skills:
* Exceptional coordination, communication, and administration.
* A demonstrable knowledge of continual improvement Health and Safety management systems as well as a working knowledge of NZ HS legislative requirements.
* A demonstrated practical competency with Microsoft Office including Excel, Publisher and Word.

Here's what you need to know:
Low Level Security Clearance
* You must be a New Zealand citizen or you must hold New Zealand Permanent Residence or have a current New Zealand Residency Class Visa.
* At minimum, you must hold New Zealand Permanent Residence or have a current New Zealand Residency Class Visa, and you must be a citizen of and have lived in Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, United States of America or New Zealand continuously for the last five (5) years.
* You must have a five (5) year background history that can be verified and assessed appropriately by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) to determine if you are suitable for a security clearance at this level.
If you do not meet the minimum criteria, unfortunately, your application will not be accepted.
