ABOUT THE ROLE

An exciting opportunity has emerged to lead Cotton On New Zealand on a 12-month parental leave contract as we head into our 20th anniversary in market!

The Auckland-based role offers the prospect for a driven, people-first and customer-obsessed retail leader to continue the brand's success story as Head of Retail, New Zealand.

Reporting directly to the Country Manager, the Head of Retail will be responsible for the 76 Cotton On, Cotton On Body and Cotton On Kids stores across our full price and outlet portfolios.

Underpinned by the brand’s purpose to make a positive difference in people’s lives, you will continue the not-for-profit work of Cotton On Foundation, raising funds to support creating a world where every young person can thrive!

The Head of Retail will enable our vision by leading, engaging and inspiring high performing teams that focus on people and our customer to maximize national business performance;

  • Inspire culture that provides direction and purpose to deliver for our customer at all touch points.

  • Lead and develop capability through your leadership team that enables performance and builds an internal talent pipeline for future succession.

  • Deliver and embed excellence across the business to enhance the customer experience.

  • Impact and influence key business functions to maximise efficiencies and simplify processes that improve the experience for team and customer.

  • Deliver on business profitability through clear direction, commercial decision making and operational excellence.

  • Drive the country brand strategy to maximise sales performance and drive business productivity.

This is a fixed term position for 12 months.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience as a Head of Retail or a similar leadership role within retail, preferably in fashion or apparel.

  • Strategic and values-driven leader with a commitment to people, customer, product and agility.

  • Strong understanding of product, marketing and retail across an omnichannel business.

  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills with a proven track record of inspiring and motivating teams.

  • Commitment to operational excellence and with an ability to breakdown complexity.

  • Strong commercial acumen and commitment to financial outcomes.

  • Passion for driving a growth mindset.

  • Obsessed with retail and creating unforgettable experiences for customers.

  • Love for fashion and ability to understand trends.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, retail management, or a related field (preferred).
