About the Role
As Head of Improvement and Technology, you'll lead a team responsible for shaping and delivering national frameworks for policy, process, and technology systems across Procurement, Supply Chain and Health Technology Management (PSC&HTM).

This role is pivotal in driving operational excellence, embedding robust controls, and implementing innovative solutions that improve efficiency and compliance.

You'll oversee technology integration, guide change management, and ensure alignment with Health NZ's strategic goals.

Your leadership will influence how our team operates nationally, creating sustainable improvements that deliver measurable value and resilience.
Your work will help ensure our health services are safer, more responsive, more connected, and better equipped for the future.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The Procurement, Supply Chain and Health Technology Management (PSC&HTM) team at Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora are a national function with a vast and complex scope.

They play a critical role in ensuring the availability, safety, and efficiency of clinical and non-clinical goods and services across the health system.

Responsible for managing and influencing over $9 billion in annual spend, the team are central to delivering high-quality patient outcomes and standardising product usage across regions.

* Extensive experience leading system, process or technology transformation in large, complex organisations
* Proven success leading high-performing teams and embedding continuous improvement at scale
* Ability to understand data and systems that ensure processes deliver benefits that can be substantiated
* Expertise in policy, process, and systems development, and the ability to translate analysis into actionable change
* Demonstrated ability to build strong, influential relationships across diverse stakeholder groups
* Strong commercial and financial acumen, with a track record of delivering tangible benefits
* Experience navigating ambiguity, driving organisational change, and uplifting capability
* Advanced problem-solving, communication and strategic thinking skills
