Head of Global Marketing & E commerce

Job description

About the Company

Animals Like Us is a fast-growing New Zealand success story on a mission to redefine pet nutrition and well on its way to becoming an iconic global brand.

Founded by Jeremy Moon (Icebreaker Founder) and Rob Achten (Icebreaker’s original Creative Director), the company blends deep brand expertise with a bold purpose: to make dogs healthier through food that’s both nutritious and delicious.

Operating at the intersection of brand, digital, and performance marketing, Animals Like Us delivers premium products that people and their pets genuinely love and they’re now looking for a Head of Global Marketing & eCommerce to lead the digital growth engine and help shape the next chapter of this movement.

About the Role

Reporting directly to CEO, Rob Achten, you’ll own the end-to-end global marketing and e-commerce performance strategy — from acquisition and conversion to retention and ROI.

This is both a strategic and hands-on role: you’ll oversee Amazon performance, manage agency partners, and build a data-driven growth engine that ties every marketing dollar to measurable results.

Working closely with the Rob, you’ll help bring the brand to life across every consumer touchpoint — creating alignment between performance, creativity, and commercial outcomes.

What You’ll Do

  • Performance Marketing – Lead global paid media, CRM, and e-commerce initiatives that drive acquisition, conversion, and repeat purchase across all markets.
  • Scale E-commerce Channels – Build and execute a best-practice playbook for marketplace and online retail partners.

Oversee Amazon strategy, agency performance, and execution to maximise category share, ROI, and profitability.
  • Lead Retail Marketing Strategy – Partner with regional Sales leaders to deliver sell-through, velocity, and best-in-class in-store execution that connects seamlessly with digital demand.

  • Make Data Work Harder – Create clear dashboards and performance reporting that link every marketing investment to revenue, margin, and ROI.
  • Lead & Collaborate – Develop capability within a small, high-impact team and work cross-functionally with Sales, Supply Chain, and Finance to deliver measurable commercial results.

Foster a culture that embraces AI tools, automation, and experimentation to accelerate outcomes.
  • Drive Strategic Focus – Define where to play, how to win, and how to scale efficiently across global markets — balancing creativity, precision, and performance discipline.

  • What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience leading performance marketing and e-commerce growth in global or regional consumer brands (FMCG, lifestyle, or premium goods).
  • Deep understanding of Amazon and digital commerce economics — from ACOS and ROAS to pricing and logistics.
  • Strong analytical and commercial mindset — fluent in data, dashboards, and decision-making.
  • Experience balancing brand consistency with commercial delivery across multiple markets.
  • Comfortable leveraging AI tools and platforms to enhance performance marketing, automate workflows, and unlock insights at scale.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit — comfortable moving fast, testing, learning, and optimising what works.

  • Why This Role Matters

This is a pivotal commercial role in this NZ founded company that’s scaling rapidly.

You’ll help build the systems, capability, and performance engine behind its next stage of growth – turning ambition into measurable global success.
The role will suit someone who thrives in ambiguity, builds with purpose, and sees opportunity where others see constraints.

If you’re curious, collaborative, and ready to co-create, let’s talk – even if your path looks a little different.

Dog lovers will be in good company.
