Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

The primary purpose of the role is to establish and implement a construction quality management system.

Supporting and developing the Quality Management capabilities of operational delivery teams, to assist in developing and applying best practice Quality Management procedures, including lead the development and implementation of quality management procedures, templates and guidance including document control and records, quality audits, control of non-conformances and corrective and preventative actions.

Note: Preference will be given to Te Whatu Ora and Te Aka Wahi Ora candidates.

Mōu | About you

In this role you will lead the delivery portfolio's construction quality management function, as well as design and implement the work streams to embed the Quality Management framework and standards across infrastructure delivery.

You will enable the IIG's Quality Management application of performance monitoring tools and reporting systems, and provide subject matter expertise, as required, to the development and application of design, construction and maintenance procurement and contract establishment activities.

In addition you will establish the Quality Management performance reporting requirements and liaise with Te Whatu Ora contractors and consultants, and ensure those dedicated to support IIG have a comprehensive understanding of the Te Whatu Ora quality management requirements.

Youw ill be the key point of contact for relationship management concerning all Quality Management matters with Te Whatu Ora construction contractors, as well as, represent the IIG at any infrastructure industry Quality Management forums, and, present at, and update the ELT, Capital and Infrastructure Committee, and Board as required.

  • Qualification in Quality Management or similar
  • 10+ years skills and experience, including Senior Leadership experience (or consulting or professional body at the organisational level) within a similar role
  • Experience in developing and implementing a quality management system for construction projects
  • Experience working with the construction and consultancy industry
  • Leading a team to successfully implement a national quality management system
  • Knowledge of the construction process and NZCIC
  • Understanding of construction and consultancy contracts
