Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

The primary purpose of the role is to identify, assess, and prioritise asset-risks, and the associated plans and actions, to minimise the probability of occurrence and the negative impact that these asset-risks, may have on the ability of Te Whatu Ora, to deliver health services.

Note: Preference will be given to internal Te Whatu Ora and Te Aka Whai Ora candidates.

Mōu | About you

In this role you will lead the development of a formal asset risk management policy and framework as well as lead the development of a national asset risk register that identifies, assesses, and prioritises risks.

You will ensure that mitigation strategies/plans are in place and regularly report on asset risks and the mitigation plans.

You will support the development of asset resilience levels of service, measures, and targets, as well as develop and maintain a regional and national asset compliance register to include all aspects of asset compliance and regularly report on asset compliance status.

Success in this role will see you bring a good mix of specialist skills and experience not limited to:

  • Qualification in Asset Management, Risk Management or similar
  • 10+ years skills and experience, including Senior Leadership experience within a similar role
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team to deliver best practice asset risk management and compliance
  • Good understanding of asset compliance standards
  • Developing and implementing a Risk and Compliance Framework and System, preferably relating to assets
  • Establishing a systematic and fully optimised risk data collection and mitigation programme
  • Analysing and reporting on risks
  • Working with emergency management and civil defence teams
  • Leading a team that works closely with intra and cross agency teams to ensure risks are collected, managed, and communicated as required
